9 hole Foursomes Charity Challenge

News, Events and Knockout Competitions : 9 hole Foursomes Charity Challenge

Andrew has kindly agreed to play a 9 hole Foursomes Charity Challenge for the last few weeks of my captaincy.

Our first challenge was from Sandra and Graham, and they beat us, helped in part by a near hole in one by Graham on the 7th. It was a complete demonstration of teamwork – one resting for 6 holes and one for 3! Well done them and thank you.

Challenge 2 - Again, not a good day for Andrew and myself! We were challenged by Sandra and Rob Ford who were the winners. I blamed my bad putting but then Rob came down in the Club Medal, so I didn't feel so bad as he was obviously in a purple patch. It was a fun 9 holes and thanks to them both.

Challenge 3 - Eliza Vail and July Taylor took up the challenge. I knew they would be a tricky pair but Andrew produced the magic and we won! Julie put right in her head the rules misinformation she had been given in our morning's medal! Again, thanks to them both for playing.

Well, Andrew's and my last Challenge - who did we have? Mrs. Ford (again!) and Mrs. Clarke. All I can say is that Andrew and I didn't break our pattern. We lost! I thought we had a chance, having dragged both ladies round Elfordleigh for two days. They will be shattered, I thought, but no...Gwen discovered that Less is Best, reduced her backswing and sailed down the middle of the fairways.

Well done them and thankyou to all who supported us in this bit of fun and and to you all for being so generous to my charity.
