We have played two Friendlies - the first Away at Orchardleigh we lost 3 and 2, but with satisfyingly close games, and the second was a walkover on Dawlish Beach greens here against Sherborne. We can obviously play better on sand than they can, but how much more work is being done here, compared to their own course, was not lost on the ladies I played with, one being next year's Lady Captain. They were very complimentary about our course, the food, the clubhouse and the welcome here.

We had a Mixed Friendly Away at Weymouth, which was another walkover, and I would like to say thankyou to Pam Frith, a new lady from Wheathill, and her husband, Alan, who is still a member of Wheathill, for stepping into the breach on the Sunday morning with about half an hour's notice when we had a couple withdraw. Their willingness to help was much appreciated.
