The following pages of this report will give you all the scores, prize winners, some facts and figures, and a few thank yous.
The organising committee of John Evans Tommy Tulk and Phil Lock would like to thank everyone for their help and cooperation on making this year’s Open a successful day. Our club captain Norm for all his input and the presentation of prizes, Andrew and the pro shop staff, the office staff and the catering team and anyone else who helped, THANK YOU. A special thank you to Pete and his team for preparing an excellent course on the day and for all the additional work carried out in the weeks leading up to the Open.
We had 43 available start times at 10 minute intervals and of those 29 were taken giving a total of 116 entries made up of 51 members and 65 visitors. To all the members and visitors who took part many thanks for your support. A big thank you to members who volunteered to play with visiting pairs as this helped enormously with the organising of start times and to Paul and Lyndsey for the organisation of the Windwhistle players who in total numbered 22 also to Marlon for the 2 teams from Royal North Devon, Yeovil with 7 and Taunton and Pickeridge with 11 visitors were once again fully supportive.
In all there were visitors from 14 different golf clubs with Hugh Gilmour from Lochwinnoch in Scotland being our longest distance travelled.
