Centenary plate 1st round.

Well done to Vanessa Hayes and Angela Body winning their foursomes match today at Worlebury GC  on the 18th hole. They played at Worlebury Golf Club, a neutral venue against Isle Wedmore.GC.  Only one handicap shot in it, a tough tight match. Great result. They will play either Taunton & Pickeridge or Clevedon GC in the next round.

Ladies away days at Ashbury Manor

28 Ladies from Long Sutton travelled to Ashbury Manor Okehampton 19th-21st March to enjoy a few days golf. They were not expecting arctic weather, snow, hail, torrential rain and some sunshine. Our ladies are a tough lot, all three days golf completed. They were cold, drenched but that did not deter them from enjoying themselves. The venue had plenty of non golf activities, i.e. pistol shooting, archery and much more. There were some very good golfing scores, in both team and individual events.

Bring it on again next year.

Carole Paterson.

3rd March Ladies Section Coffee Morning.

An ideal day to be indoors enjoying coffee and cake when the rain is pouring down outside.

The ladies heard from a variety of speakers who outlined how their section worked and who did what.

Janet Fear the County Handicap Advisor came and spoke about the future changes in both handicaps and the playing of the game. John Gundy a Project worker from Somerset Young Carers talked about how the Project supported the youngsters who have a caring role. A raffle raised  £146 for the charity, we had some splendid prizes donated.

A big thank you to all those who presented or donated and a big thank you to Graham and Felicity for making the club house available for us
