Pink Lady Day
After arranging contingency plans due to the weather forecast, we were pleasantly surprised to awake to a dry day. As they arrived all the ladies looked amazing in their pink outfits. Fun was had on the course with ladies determined not to lose their pink balls. Some even removed shoes and socks to retrieve theirs from watery places!
After the game, ladies gathered in the dining room and played 'pin the bra to the lady' (a version of the children's party game, 'pin the tail on the donkey') organised by Pat Harvey. There was much hilarity as blindfolded dizzy pink ladies tried to win a prize. Once again we played the indoor putting game. Sylvie was very accurate putting in her high heeled sandals. Not sure if Graham would approve on his greens!
It was incredibly difficult to decide who should win the prize for the best dressed 'Pink Lady' but Gwen's hand decorated pink shower cap and her very large bra decorated with pink ribbons (worn on top of her clothes!) won the day & Aideen adorned in her pink curly Minnie Mouse pink wig won second prize.
The winners of the team Bowmaker were Jean Padfield, Mandy Head & Pat Whitehead, second place went to Gwen Clarke, Sylvie Coache-Tucker & Bridget Caddy, 3rd place went to Carol Searl, Sally Taylor & Diana Mason. 8 out of the 12 pink balls that went out came back!
The raffle table overflowed with the wonderful and generous prizes donated by the ladies section and included a large basket of Wyke Farms cheeses, two lovely fruit baskets and even a chocolate fountain! Marlene Paterson won the first prize of a £50 Long Sutton voucher. We raised a fantastic £260 for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
Many thanks to Kate who made another wonderful 'bra' cake which she beautifully decorated and George and Julie for the delightful and delicious cup cakes.
I would like to thank my ladies for their great support on the day including the ladies who were unable to attend but still made donations and provided raffle prizes. Thanks also to the ladies who attended post golf and supported the cause. A big thank you to Helen for selling raffle tickets, Kath who supported me on the day and Norman for checking the cards.
