SENIORS INVITATION DAY
Thursday 17th May was a rather dull day weather wise, however the Long Sutton track was produced in excellent condition, after very much hard work from our greens staff. It was commented on how nice it was to be greeted by such young ladies from the Ladies Section ably led by The Ladies Captain Julie.
Forty nine players which included 25 visitors, two from as far away as Belgium gathered to pit their skills in a Pairs Stableford competition with both scores to count on all holes. Early leaders were the Seniors Captain Roger Stone with his partner from Worlebury GC Malcolm Simpson, with 65 pts, however the lead was not held for too long as scores of 66 and 67 pts came in. Scores of 68pts then came in with a flurry.
At the after lunch presentation of prizes, players commented on the good food, and the excellence of the course, which had recovered well after the recent bad weather. A thoroughly enjoyable day was had by all.
