Welcome to the Long Sutton Golf Club Seniors Section. The site enables both Section members and visitors to keep up to date with events, competitions, and results, as well as providing useful information for members, visitors and new members.
The Seniors Section is an extremely active and friendly section of the Long Sutton Golf Club. At present we have 129 active members and the Section is continually growing.
We play 30 matches against other clubs seniors sections, which enables players of all abilities to play in match play conditions in a friendly environment. However it is always nice to win when possible.
From spring onwards we have monthly medals, stablefords and team events as well as some fun events. We also play home and away matches against the Ladies Section, for the Redwood Cup. These two matches are good fun, however, it also gives members who might not generally enter team matches, the opportunity to pitch their skills in friendly match play conditions,
Long Sutton Golf Club continues to improve year by year, by virtue of the owners Graham and Felicity Holloway's continuing enthusiasm to upgrade both on and off course conditions. We are lucky to have such keen owners!
Visitors and members are encouraged to spend a little time at the ‘19th’ and try out the varied menus which the catering staff provide. The food at Long Sutton is held in high regard throughout the Somerset County.
Quite often I am asked how I manage to play regularly off a single figure handicap.
My reply is……. ‘ALWAYS CONCENTRATE AT ALL TIMES’…….. but also enjoy yourself to your own ability. Remember there are plenty of others who would love to walk the fairways, but for one reason or other are unable to do so.
