The 2016 Dryer Cup concluded on 21st March, which turned out to be a wonderful day for golf, warm, sunny and windless. The USA team had a bit of a mountain to climb following the 1-6 drubbing in the fourballs but, with 17 points to play for in the Singles matches, anything was possible. With few shots around, it all depended on the golf on the day. Three matches were halved and others were close but Europe held on to their lead with a 9.5 - 7.5 win on the day, giving an overall result of 15.5 points to 8.5. Congratulations to them.
The competition now seems to be a popular addition to the Seniors’ calendar judging by the level of interest and support over the three years it has been run. The winter weather will, naturally, always be a factor but this year has demonstrated the enthusiasm for the event.
