August Highlights

  •  Divisional winners of the Medal Q on 1st were: John Thomas with gross 83 & nett 68 in Div 1. In Div 2, Bob Horton with gross 87 and Nett 68. Div 3 winner with gross 97 and nett 71 was Ray Boulton.
  • Stableford (Q) winners on the 8th were: Keith Penfold with 39pts in Div 1, that man Bob Horton with a really impressive 41 pts in Div 2 and Terry Brown won Div3 with 37 pts
  • August medal on the 15th saw Cyril Griffin win Div 1 with gross 86 and 72 nett: Div 2 was, yet again, Bod Horton with gross 85 and nett 68: Larry Jeram-Croft won Div 3 with gross 97 and nett 71
  • Seniors Open winners were Nigel Griffiths and Clive Haggett with an impressive 45 points
  • The Bowmaker on 29th was won by the 'dream team' of Nigel Griffiths, Rob Ford, Terry Brown and Jimmy Quinn with 108 points

Achievement of the Month (August)

 Only one contender for the August award, winning an impressive 3 seniors competitions in August, our winner is: Bob Horton. Great golf Bob and very well done. Prize on it's way

Seniors Inter-Club Friendly Matches - August Results 

 Big home wins against Axe Cliffe, Lyme Regis and Orchardleigh and just one loss to Enmore Park.

A creditable halved match away to T&P was followed by a heavy loss away to Weymouth.

 August Summary: Played 6, Won 3, halved 1 and lost 2

 Captains Message

 Sincere thanks to all participants in our hugely popular and successful Seniors Open for their support in raising over £1100 for my charity Mind in Somerset. The presentation of the cheque will take place after the roll up (2pm) on Thursday 3rd October. Please try and attend.

Finally, as I enter the last month of my Captaincy, I know you will all join me in wishing Len every success as both he and the club enter a new era and exciting future as part of Long Sutton Golf & Country Club. Bring it on!!
