The final round of popular Ladies winter team event the Solheim Cup was played on February 25th in unusually warm sunshine. The day saw the temperature swing from -4 to 16, and it actually turned out to be the hottest February day on record.
Team Captains, Ros Williams Europe and Sheena Smith USA, had to juggle players to get teams out for the final singles round. Europe were 4 points up at the start of the round following the Foursomes, 4BBB pairs and Greensomes. Today's match, which was well fought and evenly balanced, saw both teams winning 6 matches and achieving 6 points each. Well done to the victors Europe, who take away the trophy for this year. The day concluded in traditional style with a meal and a chat.
Lady Captain Sarah Uzzell would like to thank the 38 players who played their part in all or some of the rounds and to the two Captains in arranging the matches, picking the teams and organising the lunch.
