There are weekly competitions in place for all golfers both men and women to enjoy. The club has four Avalon league teams in the three counties league, all at weekends.
Club nights on Wednesday are an example of the great camaraderie that the club has become renowned for and is a place I would recommend any new member to come along and partake in.
We currently have over 40 junior members who actively participate in the Club. Becoming a junior member includes free Thursday Night group lessons with Assistant Professional, Jamie Clare. Members benefit from playing on the course in a safe environment with other children of a similar age while being watched by the coach and other parents. They are taught the basic rules of golf in a fun environment, and can participate in fun competitions. During the winter months the coaching continues but this takes place on the floodlit Trackman Driving Range where juniors can play different games.
We have a junior academy that takes place every Saturday morning with Head Professional, Richard Antrobus and is open to everyone at a cost of £5 per session. There are two sessions one 9 – 10am for complete beginners, followed by a session 10 – 11am for the more advanced golfer. These sessions cover all areas of the game, driving range, pitching, chipping and putting. For further information and to book in please phone the professional shop on 01458 241017 option 2.
Our section is going from strength to strength with membership currently in excess of 100. We pride ourselves on being a most welcoming, encouraging and sociable club, keen to attract lady golfers of all standards to join our established friendly group.
Each Wednesday morning we run our monthly Stableford and Medal competitions, interspersed with fun competitions. These are a mixture of individual and team games open to ladies with all levels of handicap. Working ladies are encouraged to enter the many competitions held on weekend dates.
The Seniors section has grown considerably over the past year and now stands at over 200 members.
As a section, we carry out a full diary of events throughout the year, starting in early January, through to late December. The Seniors’ meet up every Thursday morning, with a variety of competitions, including, medals, stablefords, and team games, arranged by the committee and promulgated on the IG calendar and diary.
